Once a year, the leading heads of Europe’s cable and media industries come together for their annual Cable Congress. This year’s meeting of media and minds took the high-end networking event to the Swiss town of Lucerne.
Here, on 15 February 2011, the industry’s key players gathered to discuss tomorrow’s media strategies – and to network at the subsequent party. The exclusive aftershow event, titled ‘a Swissful night,’ was attended by around 600 select invitees and international executives.
Under the aegis of lead agency standing ovation, flora&faunavisions spruced up the space with a versatile video installation. Cleverly positioned to resemble real windows to the outside world, ffv designed a fictitious room with a view and clever 360° walk-through experience at the venue’s grand Zeugheersaal.
Comprised of 12 large screens and flanked by the hall’s main stage, this accessible space-in-space not only picked up on the venue’s interior design concept – pared-down cubist lounge appeal vs. old-fashioned glam and glitz – but also provided a welcome backdrop for performers and guests alike.
Opening with a beautiful Alpine view, the team’s immersive projections recreated a deceptively realistic depiction of a stunning Swiss panorama. Throughout the night, with Swiss actress and model Melanie Winiger presenting the night’s programme, attendees got to enjoy several Swiss live acts, high-end catering by culinary luminary Philipe Rochas and – lest we forget – the event’s striking key visual in action. In order to translate the world’s fastest land animal and Cablecom’s icon to the screen, flora&faunavisions whipped up a breath-taking, near real-time 360° cheetah sprint across all 12 screens and around the venue, synchronised to an equally striking ffv sound installation.
Flanking these installations and measures, our team created additional videos for speech backdrops, dinner breaks and the EURO50 awards ceremony as well as custom party loops for the night’s hosts, upc cablecom & Nagra Kudelski.
For a coherent visual package across all media platforms, ffv also took care of any related print communication (invites, menus, the venue’s entry backdrop and standees) as well as the event’s entire web design.
