Making Waves - After 45.000 man hours (and counting) the new HUGO BOSS racing boat is a feast for the eyes on and off water – the sleek lines of the seaworthy vessel mirror the fashion label’s effortless onshore elegance.
Naturally, such a high-calibre marvel of style and craftsmanship deserves an equally high-end launch ceremony: under the watchful eyes of ca. 600 lucky invitees, actress Diane Kruger, Grand Prix champion David Coulthard and skipper Alex Thomson christened the slick racer as part of a carefully choreographed launch event held at London’s Canary Wharf on May 27th 2010.
Setting the scene for the fashion brand and illustrious guests alike, flora&faunavisions created bespoke video content for the maritime-inspired party. A multi-part welcome trailer – projected onto giant custom sails – juxtaposed graphic elements with additional photo and video reminders of the label’s previous flagships as well as a preview of the flotilla’s latest addition in the guise of visionary technical drawings and real footage.
The new racing boat’s grandiose reveal was accompanied by a precise sound and video collage in 2xHD size – the resulting projection engulfed the entire width of the opposing façade.
To round off this visual runway show in style, ffv entertained the assembled luminaries with a smart custom live set at the subsequent party. Yet again, made-to-measure screens, sharply-cut footage and couture imagery made for a perfect fit – between location, race boat, fashion label and the flora&faunavision(s).
For the sound design of the facade projection we worked together with 210 Studios.
