Every year, IFA - the world’s leading business event for consumer electronics and home appliances – attracts more than 1000 exhibitors and over 6,000 journalists to this showcase of tomorrow’s technologies.
2009 proved to be no exception: Attended by a select 500 from industry, media and entertainment, IFA’s grand gala event attracted a slew of celebrities from German chancellor Angela Merkel to supermodel Franziska Knuppe – and sported the ffv look.
From striking event graphics and signage right down to the public restroom décor – adorned with a variation of blossom stickers fashioned from IFA’s floral logo, Forex tendrils attached to the tiles and mirrors and a touch of precious fragrance accents – flora&faunavisions for lead agency Vitamin-e created a coherent, visual and visionary event design on par with the trade fair’s international image and standing.
Greeted by 30 modernist white cubes for leisurely congregation, the guests enjoyed a lavish gala dinner among discreet welcome and logo trailers, while the ffv team transformed the venue’s grand hall and bar area from reception hall into a leisurely lounge. Here, a range of expansive, custom-made slide installation compiled from topical newspaper clippings in more than 10 languages helped to highlight the trade fair’s global import and impact. Accompanied by four 4m x 2.5 m screens, these projections illuminated every nook and cranny of the hall’s stunning, almost cathedral architecture with a 360° view of IFA’s latest reviews.
Working against the clock, but always on schedule, flora&faunavisions’ immersive approach reflected the pervasiveness of electronics and media in our everyday lives.
