Tribute to Bambi
Who could resist those cute Bambi eyes? A tie-in with Germany's foremost media award, the annual 'Tribute to Bambi' gala has become THE country's charity event for children in need. Collecting a cool 2 ½ million euros since its inception in 2001, celebrities from Seal and Rihanna to Karl Lagerfeld have pledged their support for this glamorous fundraiser.
This year, for the very first time, the donation gala was a standalone event: On October 9, the one-hour show kick-started a several-week donation drive leading up to the BAMBI Awards gala on November 26.
A guarantee for a glam-filled show, flora&faunavisions developed and produced all video content for the stage's 28m widescreen backdrop (via soft-edge projections and a dedicated media server system).
Before the event, a poetic homage to the Bambi theme helped to set the scene for a night of wide-eyed delight. During the gala, short introductory clips welcomed new guests to the stage, subtly animated backgrounds accompanied the presenters and dedicated videos helped to offset the night's live performers. Among them: German superstars Sasha and 2Raumwohnung as well as Michael Jackson protégé Nisha & Marit Larsen.
The red, well sparkling, visual thread that holds all elements together: a simple dot of glitter. This festive symbol resurfaced in all of the projected elements, from sophisticated curtain of golden glam to the childlike exuberance and innocence of the award's cute name patron. For added sensory synergy, ffv also commissioned aural landscapes to create an encompassing, modern fairytale - and a timely reminder that dreams can come true!
