With more than 11 million monthly subscribers, the hugely successful “massively multiplayer online role-playing game” (MMORPG) World of Warcraft remains the world’s largest game of its kind.

Eager to be the first to explore a new realm and quest with the best, on November 11th a few thousand die-hard fans assembled at the Media Markt flagship store on Berlin’s Alexanderplatz for the launch of “World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King”.
 
Part of a global simultaneous launch, the midnight release, designed and staged by flora&faunavisions, kicked off with plenty of fun and games around this exceptional online adventure.
Translating the spirit of the game to two stages, the six-hour countdown added plenty of excitement to the immersive gaming experience with spectacular lighting effects, live performances of the game’s soundtrack, competitions for the re-enactment and imitation of well-known WoW dances or characters and plenty of cool giveaways.

Finally, at the stroke of midnight, Media Markt threw open its doors to the waiting masses. Inside, they were greeted by the team behind the scenes, the games’ developers and managers, who graciously agreed to sign exclusive copies of the new release – and a special collector’s edition.

The unanimous verdict? A blazing success and a cool warm-up to this icy adventure, courtesy of flora&faunavisions.
