3D Video Mapping for Audemars Piguet

The Swiss Watch Manufacturer from Le Brassus, Audemars Piguet, invited Michael Schumacher and VIP guests to the Kraftwerk building in Berlin, Kreuzberg, for the international unveiling of the limited edition Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph Michael Schumacher. To host the launch of Audemars Piguet’s new timepiece, the rough industrial building was transformed into a multimedia set: traditional watchmaking meets 3D multimedia mapping.

As an introduction to the evening and the new timepiece, flora&faunavisions created exceptional large scale video and sound content showcasing the watch and its impressive mechanical and design details. The watch was brought to life through spell-binding animations of technical drawings, winding wheels and hands underlined by dramatic effects and a cinemaesque sound design. The large scale video projection combined sequences of graphics and optical illusions with classic story-telling illustrating how the two worlds of watchmaking and car racing merged to create the Royal Oak Offshore watch.

Insights

Audemars Piguet pay an astounding amount of attention to detail. We worked with their original 3D model of the watch and could feel how the brand’s craftsmanship truly runs into the tiniest veins of the product. It was exciting to be inspired by these authentic values and to place them, moving and mapped onto the walls of the Kraftwerk building in Berlin.
